Subject: Novice at winsock
Hello Experienced Folk:
I would like to know of any books that anyone could recommend
me to regarding winsock and installing net software. I am very much a
beginner at this and only am able to figure out simple things on my
own. I have all the programs gratis from my school's hired hacker but
I don't know how to use it. I have Mosaic20c? I have winqvt, I have
winsock, what I want to do is setup these various programs from my
laptop when i call in to my unix account. Is this possible? i am using
a 14.4 modem that has v42 capability and the account is local, but can
I gain net access without actually being hard-lined connected? Am I
even using these terms well? Please! any advice or suggestions would
be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much,
Colin Thomas

Nope, you still need to install them

I'm on a 486 DX266, I upgraded to WFWG 3.11 around the 1st of the year
and love it. The 32 bit file access added noticeable improvement on
my system. While I don't agree with some claims I read that it is 100%
faster, I can tell the difference.
